History
1981
Start-up of production in Belgium
Initially the netting production started to serve the tree nursery industry and was used to pack the root balls for transportation.
In a later stage, the company specialised in the production and distribution of elastic netting for the meat industry.
The factory was located in Roeselare (Belgium).
1994
Opening factory in Malaysia
This was the start of our global scale-up. With production in both Belgium and Malaysia, we were no longer a European supplier but became a global player.
2014
Rebranding in Europe - creation of Greenflex
Piet Vangroenweghe relaunched the family business. Sales, logistics and R&D are now once again controlled from Belgium. The range of textile packaging for the food industry is continuously being expanded.
2018
Opening of new distribution center in Roeselare
Opening of our new distribution centre in Roeselare, where R&D and daily logistics work under one roof.

Product range expansion
We are pleased to announce the expansion of our product range. In addition to our textile packaging, we now offer cardboard packaging and other consumables to meet the growing demand of our customers.

Profiling as an innovator

EcoVadis Bronze Medal
Greenflex was awarded the EcoVadis Bronze medal in 2024, a company-level rating of its environmental, ethics, labour and procurement practices. A reassessment is underway in 2026.

Our expertise goes back to the 1980s. Today, Greenflex is an internationally renowned producer and distributor of (elastic) nets for the food industry. We combine our inexhaustible technical know-how with the latest improvements in traceability and food safety. We sell our nets worldwide, but are constantly looking for new collaborations in which we provide you with the best net advice.

Part of our research is focused on plastic-free and latex-free nets and on lowering the energy use of our production.
